Dr. Alli Antar is a patent engineer with a background in chemistry, cellular and molecular biology, and physiology. She is an accomplished academic scientist with 25 years of research experience and has expertise in drug (including small molecule) and nutritional studies, transgenic technology, medical devices, and a wide range of biological and chemical assays and scientific laboratory equipment.

Prior to joining OBWB, Dr. Antar was a tenure track Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Nutrition at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. As a Principal Investigator, she independently directed an American Heart Association and U.S. Department of Agriculture-funded scientific laboratory conducting basic and translational biomedical research.

Over the course of her extensive academic career, Dr. Antar established subject matter expertise in the areas of autoimmune and cardiovascular diseases, cellular and whole body metabolism, endocrine/hormone disorders (especially diabetes), enzymology, environmental and toxicological studies, immunology, obesity, pharmacology, and vitamins and nutrients. She is knowledgeable in a wide range of in vivo and in vitro methodologies, having developed many such protocols for her lab.

Dr. Antar brings this breadth of knowledge and insight to her work drafting and prosecuting patents for a wide array of domestic and international clients.
